WE NEED YOUR HELP
DO YOU SUPPORT RESPONSIBLE PLACER MINING?
The KPMA has been working tirelessly to share our message, but since the Eagle Gold incident we are largely ignored and the conversations are going backwards. This said, our community partners in Dawson City (like TH, the KVA, the DCCC, and others) are consistent in their interest in seeing a progressive, responsible and local placer industry succeed. It is the rest of the Yukon that needs greater education around what placer mining is, what it isn’t, and what it can be – with leadership, clear guidelines, and broad support for industry’s survival that still respects consultation between government and First Nations that may need more time than old legislative frameworks provided.
There are several ways you can add your voice to ours:
1. Write an email of support and send to Minister Streicker, responsible for the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, John.Streicker@yukon.ca, and, Premier Ranj Pillai, responsible for the Department of Economic Development, Ranj.Pillai@yukon.ca.
2. Write an email of support and send to your local MLA.
3. Join the KPMA’s public meeting at Gold Show next Friday at 5pm in Dawson City at the Palace Grand. All interested parties are welcome, both those that support placer mining and those that want to learn more about it.
Copy the KPMA on your emails so we can track and share your comments in a broader scope, kpma@kpma.ca; and thank you in advance for your support.
